iGynecologists are physicians who treat women’s health issues, especially concerning the reproductive system. The areas this most concern are breasts, uterus, vagina, cervix and fallopian tubes and ovaries. Most of the time, females begin seeing gynecologists after they have started having regular periods. Females should see the gynecologist at least once a year for a check-up.
The check-up usually includes a breast examination for lumps, and a physical examination of the vaginal area, including a Pap smear. Gynecologists also perform hysterectomies and sterilization.
