May 24, 2024
GEORGETOWN, KY (May 22, 2024) - Georgetown Community Hospital proudly announces the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Medical Office Building at Parkview Plaza. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, to commemorate this significant addition to the community’s healthcare infrastructure.
The three-story Medical Office Building, located at the newly developed Parkview Plaza, is set to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services for the residents of Georgetown and surrounding areas. This facility embodies the hospital's commitment to delivering quality medical care in a convenient and patient-friendly environment. The facility is home to a brand-new Georgetown Express Care, Georgetown Family Physicians, Central Kentucky Pain & Spine and ENT Associates of Central Kentucky.
The grand opening event saw a remarkable turnout from the community, with key medical providers, local officials, and members of the public in attendance. Highlights of the ceremony included speeches about quality patient care, the growth of the Georgetown community and personal anecdotes of the project. Speakers included:
- Cliff Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Georgetown Community Hospital, Market President for Lifepoint Central Kentucky
- Tom Prather, Georgetown Community Hospital Board Chair, Former Mayor
- Jason Zachariah, Lifepoint Health, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
- William Haugh, Lifepoint Health, Division President, Central Division
- Eric Friedlander, Secretary, Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services
- Leslie Asbury, MD, Georgetown Community Hospital Chief of Staff, ENT Specialist
“Our community hospital is providing quality healthcare right here in Georgetown,” said Tom Prather, GCH Board Chair and Former Mayor of the City of Georgetown. “They recently earned a Leapfrog ‘A’, designating them as one of the safest hospitals in America.”
As a Bird’s Nest Sponsor and close partner with Scott County Schools Athletics, Georgetown Community Hospital proudly incorporated students throughout the event. Students Adeleine Johnson, soprano (GCHS), Mackenzie Lullannix, alto (GCHS) and Luke Griesser, bass (SCHS) began the program with the singing of the National Anthem. Also, cheer teams and bands from Scott County High School and Great Crossing High School performed during the ribbon cutting portion of the ceremony. Cheerleaders held the ribbon and cheered while the drum line created suspense for Cliff Wilson, CEO, who grasped the large ceremonial scissors.
In addition to the performances by Scott County Schools’ students at the event, there are references to the athletic programs throughout the design of the new Georgetown Express Care. In the waiting room, a Birds Nest Kid’s Corner can be found for children to play while they wait. In addition, there are custom wall graphics in two pediatric exam rooms that represent all student athletic programs from SCHS and GCHS. “From gaming to bowling, we wanted to create a space that is comforting for our youth when they are not feeling their best,” said Cliff Wilson, CEO.
Immediately following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed self-guided tours of the facility, showcasing the medical equipment and thoughtfully designed patient care areas. The tours provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the enhanced capabilities and patient-centered approach that the new building offers.
Georgetown Family Physicians, Central Kentucky Pain & Spine and ENT Associates of Central Kentucky are all welcoming new patients in their larger clinic spaces. Georgetown Express Care will continue to welcome walk-in appointments with expanded hours (Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm; Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5pm)
