Kevin Donohue, DO, FACP, Joins Georgetown Community Hospital as Medical Director of Hospital Medicine

Georgetown, KY (September 9, 2024) – Georgetown Community Hospital (GCH) is excited to announce the addition of Kevin Donohue, DO, FACP, as the new Hospital Medicine Medical Director. With an extensive background in inpatient care, Dr. Donohue brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to enhancing patient care and operational excellence to GCH.
Dr. Donohue, who comes to Georgetown most recently from Lexington, is a Fellow of College of Physicians (FACP) and has spent a decade in hospital medicine, demonstrating a remarkable ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive quality improvement initiatives. His comprehensive understanding of hospital operations and patient management will be instrumental in advancing the hospital's mission of making communities healthier®.

In his new role, Dr. Donohue will oversee all aspects of hospital medicine services, including quality and safety initiatives, clinical operations, and physician leadership. He will also provide clinical leadership and oversight to Georgetown Community Hospital’s sister facilities (Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles and Bourbon Community Hospital in Paris) by working closely with the hospital’s medical staff, administration, and community partners.

Dr. Donohue earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where he served as Class President. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at HCA Largo Hospital, a USF Morsani College of Medicine GME program, where he was Chief Resident and recognized as Senior Resident of the Year. His career has been marked by a commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and continuous professional development. In both 2019 and 2023, Dr. Donohue was awarded Physician of the Year by CHI Saint Joseph Health.
